Theog
Theog is a small hill town on NH-5, roughly 30 km east of Shimla, that most travellers pass through on the way to Kufri, Narkanda or the apple belt of Kotgarh. It has a quiet bazaar, a few local eateries and wide views over the surrounding ridges — a practical and peaceful base for exploring the upper Shimla hills.

Theog is on NH-5, about an hour's drive from Shimla. Regular state buses run between Shimla and Theog. The nearest major railhead is Shimla (narrow gauge) and the nearest airport is Jubbarhatti near Shimla.
